See? I told you that one day Rhaus the Conqueror would return, and did you believe me? That's okay, I didn't either. But I was wrong, because it is back! Entirely rewritten, and now with 100% more outline, it's the new and improved (I hope) Rhaus the Conqueror Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.
I would like to ask people who read this to keep Notepad open while you're reading. Mark down what you like, what you don't like, jokes that work and ones that don't work, things that are confusing or hard to follow and, and this the important part, mark down every spelling and grammar error that you see and note where it is. Please. Pretty please.
For those of you who didn't see this in the days of yore, of who've forgotten about it the time since last this story was heard from, I offer this synopsis:
Rhaus the Conqueror is the story of an evil warlord and the beautiful princess who wants to marry him. Yeah, you read that right. For the sake of tradition and politics, Rhaus the Conqueror abducts Princess Delilah Richthofen and threatens to marry her one year later, but only because he knows that she'll be rescued. It turns out, however, that Delilah would much rather just marry the warlord and get a stake in his vast fortune. This leaves Rhaus, his pocket-sized demon servant, and Rhaus's lovely assistant to do what no band of ne're-do-wells has ever attempted before: save a princess from themselves.

Flash fiction, java edition
So I wrote a very wistful, kind of girly version of this....and I didn't read over it afterwards so maybe it would be a little more flash-y. If you know what I mean.
Anyhow, I would love to hear what people think. This is a fun challenge!

Flash Fiction Starter Complete
Here's my response to the flash fiction starter sentence project. I actually had something longer planned in the beginning, but I felt this ending was appropriate.

I'm not sure if the last sentence really "jives" with the rest of the work, but it's supposed to be short, light, and wistful :)
Tell me what you think.

Flash Fiction Challenge
Alright, let's see if this works. My understanding of flash fiction is that it's intended to be very very short (hence the name) and doesn't necessarily have to tell a complete story. I hope that my understanding is correct, because otherwise my response to the flash fiction challenge is really incredibly stupid. Do Goggle Docs just not tolerate indentation, by the way?
Hopefully I'll have some real content in the next week or so. No promises.

New Challenge: Flash Fiction Starter Sentence
Ok, Scott and I talked it over and decided that the newest writing challenge should be to write a short flash fiction piece that starts with this sentence: "She began to drink the coffee. While she was drinking, holding the cup in both hands, she began to make that sound again."

Note on Google Docs
This is the most effective way I have found to share Google Doc files:
Upload the file to your folder
Right-click the file and select "Publish"
Click the button "Publish document"
Then paste the link that Google creates for you
Also, it might be helpful to create your own separate post if you do a challenge or post a work, so that way it's easier for people to comment specifically on your work.
If possible, try to tag your posts as well :)

Poem challenge?
I tried my hand at the poem challenge. Poetry is something I love to read, though I spend precious little time writing it.

Youtizzle
Looking forward to seeing the other word poem challenges, and writing my own tomorrow or Tuesday.
In case we have need of it, you know, ever-- I made a youtube channel linked to the TTI account. Since some of you are video-creative along with word-creative, I thought it'd be a good option.
Or it can just sit there. Empty. Forever.

Word Poem Challenge
I thought posting challenges from time to time might be helpful to keep us moving along. This challenge was posed to me by a WashU poet on Thursday.
Word Poem:
-Write a poem using the following words:
glory, peculiar, convivial, pain, fathom, grim
(or some close version of them)
-Poem must be 13 lines long
Don't worry about quality! Just have fun with it, even if you don't think you're "good" at poetry.
Here is the poem I came up with.
PRO-TIP: I highly recommend bookmarking this site or adding it so you can see the updates somehow (RSS feed?)
QUESTION: What do you guys want to see the most from this blog/site? Comment/reply here!

To the Future!
I'm hoping this new form of TTI will be enticing for all those involved.
This is a fresh start.
A clean slate!
That being said, don't worry if you haven't read everybody else's work before this; just try to make an effort to read what you can.
You can stay anonymous or not, it doesn't matter. You can make posts on this blog in your own ID if you like (might have to set that up in the options, though, but no biggie) or just using the TTI account.
I've been messing around with Google Docs and it's a blast. The TTI Google Docs page can be found here, and I've created a few folders and uploaded some stuff, but feel free to add to it, or link to your works in whatever way you like.
E-mailing to all on the list is still acceptable, I assume.
