Rhaus 5

New Rhaus the Conqueror, even if it's seeming very academic at this point:

-Chapter 1 - Darkness Triumphant!
-Chapter 2 - Help Wanted
-Chapter 3 - Dashing Prince Percival
-Chapter 4 - Mommy!
-Chapter 5 - First Times

Not naming characters is too much of a pain. I'd intended to just give guards numbers and leave it at that, but it's just too annoying. Grk and Yir only got names for that reason. I don't know if they'll ever come back again or not, if they do they'll just be inserted into scenes that would otherwise have generic guards.

In the outline I didn't introduce Hala until later, but throwing her into one of the flashbacks seemed simplier than introducing her later on and just saying that people have known her all along. So yeah, if you're getting tired of more characters then there's no salvation here, but I swear that there's a story being built here, I'm (generally) not just throwing out characters for no reason!

I'd aimed to get chapter 6 out by the end of this month, but I spent way too long editing chapter 5 (I finished "writing" it on August 31st), so it's looking doubtful.

More.

I'm trying to make only necessary edits as I go along and focus instead on new content. Wise? Maybe not, but the other option is "edit forever," so I think pushing forward is the least bad choice. So in that spirit:

-Chapter 1 - Darkness Triumphant!
-Chapter 2 - Help Wanted
-Chapter 3 - Dashing Prince Percival
-Chapter 4 - Mommy!

I have no power over the tabs being five spaces. I fixed them in the actual documents after Scott pointed it out, but Google docs doesn't care. It discards that and defaults back to five spaces. But anyway, that's 68 pages and counting. Think I'll make it to 100 (again)?

Evil never dies! It just goes away for a very long time.

See? I told you that one day Rhaus the Conqueror would return, and did you believe me? That's okay, I didn't either. But I was wrong, because it is back! Entirely rewritten, and now with 100% more outline, it's the new and improved (I hope) Rhaus the Conqueror Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.

I would like to ask people who read this to keep Notepad open while you're reading. Mark down what you like, what you don't like, jokes that work and ones that don't work, things that are confusing or hard to follow and, and this the important part, mark down every spelling and grammar error that you see and note where it is. Please. Pretty please.

For those of you who didn't see this in the days of yore, of who've forgotten about it the time since last this story was heard from, I offer this synopsis:

Rhaus the Conqueror is the story of an evil warlord and the beautiful princess who wants to marry him. Yeah, you read that right. For the sake of tradition and politics, Rhaus the Conqueror abducts Princess Delilah Richthofen and threatens to marry her one year later, but only because he knows that she'll be rescued. It turns out, however, that Delilah would much rather just marry the warlord and get a stake in his vast fortune. This leaves Rhaus, his pocket-sized demon servant, and Rhaus's lovely assistant to do what no band of ne're-do-wells has ever attempted before: save a princess from themselves.
